UPD3: I ended up using a userscript to disable zooming by Ctrl+MouseWheel. Uninstalled SetPoint and went back to using Chrome with the SmoothScroll extension. Tried to find a solution to disable page zoom with Ctrl+mouse wheel, failed, gave up. The reason we need imwheel to be disabled whenever the touchpad is enabled is because it interferes with the scrolling ability of the touchpad otherwise, breaking two-finger. I'm using CAT software in browser where I have to press Ctrl+Enter up to 2-3 times a second, this "smooth scroll" in SetPoint actually "stretches out" the wheel movement in time, so whenever I'm pressing Ctrl, this wheel movement engages and starts zooming the browser page. This is very useful to quickly swap between using an external mouse vs the built-in touchpad or touchscreen, and it solves the mouse wheel scroll speed simultaneously too. This solution turned out to be incompatible with my job.
#SMOOTHSCROLL VS CHROMIUM WHEEL DRIVER#
So probably the default MS driver for this mouse couldn't handle proper scrolling. There is no extension for Edge, but scrolling in it magically became smooth. UPD: I finally did it by installing SetPoint software for my mouse that also has a "smooth scroll" checkbox, but requires installing an extension for it to work in Chrome. In Chrome and FF, there are extensions like Smooth Scroll, but I couldn't find anything for Edge. Hello, does anyone know a reliable way to enable smooth scrolling in Edge? The default is too choppy and makes it hard to follow lines during scrolling.
